What are the methods of Screening and diagnosis?
Your doctor will perform a detailed physical examination. You will be asked for your medical history and information regarding any drainage or change in appearance of your affected area. Your doctor will perform a visual examination to look for swelling or inflammation around your affected area.
Differential diagnosis includes a dermoid cyst (tumour of the germ cell) that can resemble a pilonidal cyst and in rare cases your doctor will recommend you to undergo a CT scan or a blood test for further diagnosis of your condition.
